This collaborative workshop is perfect for everyone who is interested and wants to learn about natural dyes. You don’t need any previous experience, this class is for everyone! You will have a choice of wool and silk scarves and a range of natural dyes to choose from. You will learn to use local wild plants, such as acorn, eucalyptus, coffee berry, french broom and lichen as well as other natural dyes. You will learn the whole process from pretreating (mordant) the fabric, preparing the dye-bath from plants to the actual process of dyeing. You will go home with a scarf that you dyed yourself, a ton of confidence, formulas and dyeing tips to help you to experiment on your own.
