This collaborative workshop is perfect for nature loving knitters and weavers, who want to learn how to dye their own wool. We’ll experiment with several local wild plants, such as acorn, eucalyptus, french broom and lichen. We also learn about and use the traditional natural dyes. You will learn to pretreat (mordant) the yarn, prepare the dye-bath from natural dyestuffs and the actual process of dyeing. You will go home with a ton of confidence, formulas and dyeing tips, samples and yarns, and notes to help you to dye on your own. The price for a 4-hour workshop is 110 dollars including one skein of wool. Group size is 4-8 people.
